Johan was born to a world of snow; it is part of who he is. As a child in the small town of Malung in Sweden, it was of course natural for him to ski. Years of ski racing on the Swedish circuit followed. But then a couple of powder trips opened up a new world to Johan, and he realised that freeskiing was to be his passion.

Johan is not ashamed to be lucky, and to have this opportunity to live his skiing. But he truly appreciates his fortune - for being born into a world in which he could ski and for having the health to be able to realise his dream. For a skier there is frustration when weather stops play, but when he's having a bad day, Johan tries to think about less fortunate people in the world, who never have and never will be able to ski. That helps him looking at the life of a freeskier as it is - a dream that became true.

Beyond his life in the snow, Johan loves to read and to write, and hopes in the future to use writing to share his passions. But for now skiing is his love, and his life is dedicated to the snow.

What inspires you? People who try to do ‘good’ things. When it comes to skiing - skiers that can manage different elements, and of course, skiers that are having fun.
Being able to live out of what I love. Becoming a member of The North FaceŽ team.

In 2011, Johan wasn’t able to get much skiing done due to a serious foot injury on his third day into the skiing in season in December 2010. This meant he wasn't able to ski until April 2011. Nevertheless, he still managed to get four magazine covers he’s proud of and wrote stories for magazines all over Europe. Johan is psyched for the 2012 skiing season – as he puts it “the stoke is sky high!”
